Carolina Tejada has the unique experience of working in a variety of roles within Silverstein Properties Operations Department including management roles in the commercial properties, residential properties and Vice President – Operations.  She has portfolio oversight, over 13.5 Million square feet, collaborating closely with the firm’s accounting, acquisition, asset management, leasing, and legal groups.  In her role as Vice President, she is responsible for overseeing the operating property budgets and process, elevator service and projects, cleaning services, metal maintenance, window washing systems, investor relationship management, and the development and execution of internal processes and procedures.  She also performs project management for strategic repositioning projects.  Carolina also serves as a member of the REBNY Residential Management Council and as a member of the 32BJ Training Fund Advisory Council. 

Carolina holds a BS in Computer Engineering, with a minor in Business and Math, from Manhattan College.   She completed continuing education through BOMAs RPA program and in 2023 the REBNY Fellows Leadership Program.  While her job can be challenging at times, it’s hardly the most harrowing thing she’s done. A Shark Week fanatic, she has been shark cage diving in Hawaii, California, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.  Carolina lives in North Merrick with her husband Sam and two daughters, Samantha, 14 and Cassandra, 12.    

Carolina is also the caregiver to a mother diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2025, although it is not the first experience of Alzheimer’s in her family.  Carolina’s mother, Magdalena (or Mayra as she likes to be called), was also a caregiver to her own parents both diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.  Carolina assisted her mother in caring for her grandparents, today they both lean on that experience and understand the challenges they will be facing.  Thanks to new medical advances, Carolina’s mother is an ideal candidate for Leqembi, a medication to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s, due to her being in the early stages of Alzheimer’s.  After a year of persistence and multiple rejections, Carolina was able to successfully get her mother approved for the Leqembi medication which she started in May 2026.
